Chris Theriot, CFRE, is proud to be a Trussville City Schools Foundation board member. He has resided in Trussville for over ten years with his wife Lori, a Hewitt-Trussville graduate, and high school-aged daughter, Juliette. Chris has worked for diverse nonprofit organizations, including finance, public broadcasting, environment, pediatric healthcare, and higher education. Currently, he is the Director of Grants and Resource Development Liaison at the University of West Alabama (UWA), a Joint Appointment.
Since 2019, Chris has been an Adjunct Instructor at UWA for the online Nonprofit Leadership and Philanthropy Minor, a curriculum he created.
Chris earned both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from the University of Alabama. He acquired his Certification of Fundraising Executives (CFRE) in 2011. He is currently a doctoral student in UWA’s Doctorate in Business Administration program.
Over the years, Chris has been on the board of directors of several associations, including the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Alabama Chapter (President in 2011), Grant Professionals Association, Alabama Chapter, Alabama Planned Giving Council, Trussville City Schools Foundation (President-Elect for 2022-2023), and Birmingham Girls Choir. He is currently on the southeast regional cabinet for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
