Sandra Vernon is the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent/PIO for the Trussville City School System and has served in this position for 17 years. Prior to this position, she worked as the Office Coordinator for Hewitt-Trussville Middle School and Office Assistant for Hewitt Elementary School.
Sandra has served as the school system liaison to the Trussville City Schools Foundation for 10 years.
Ms. Vernon was named the Ned and Goldie Paine Memorial Individual Gatekeeper of the Year in 2019, District VII Secretary of the Year, and the Paws for a Cause Volunteer of the Year.
Sandra is a member of Trussville First United Methodist Church. She graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School in 1979 (GO HUSKIES) and attended Jefferson State Community College. Sandra lives in Trussville with her husband, David, and her boxer, Oliver. She has two sons, Ryan and Drew, who are graduates of Hewitt Trussville High School. Ryan and daughter-in-law Amanda have two children, Amelia Claire and John David.
